Summer Top

This is a pattern that was specifically created for our machine. Because the right side is curved, making the stitches too tight, this pattern uses the left side of the machine only. It can also be used for any other machine, it just might be less practical.
This top is about a size S. The sizes can be adjusted by increasing/decreasing the width.
The yarn that was used was the thin recycling yarn combined with a pink yarn about the same thickness. Results are going to be different depending on what yarn is used.
Start with a stitch size of 2 for the lower, looser half of the top.
Thread your needles from L100-R10 and knit 181 rows.
At about row 160, switch the stitch size to 6 for a more opaque fabric in the chest area.

After you're done, put the needles L44-R10 on the E-position and change the carriage settings to hold. This way the needles on the right side aren't going to knit and you can create a neckline by working on one side at a time.

After you put the needles in the correct position, knit four rows normally, then decrease by one stitch whenever the carriage is on the left side of your garment. This way you create the neckline by decreasing one stitch every second row.
Repeat this process until you've arrived at the needle L77.
Now you should be at row 245. Keep knitting without decreasing from row 245 until row 325. This is going to be the shoulder strap.
Now switch the carriage back from hold to normal (H to N) and go over all the needles, so that the needles that weren't being used before get taken up again.
You're going to get one thread that connects the left side to the right side, just cut that and knot it, so the garment doesn't dissolve.
Now you can repeat the process for the right side.
Put the needles L100-L77 on the E-position and set the carriage back to hold.
Set the counter back to 181 and knit three rows normally. Then do same as on the other side, decreasing once every two rows, this time when the carriage is on the right side.
Do this until you've arrived at needle L16.
Then keep knitting again from row 245-325 to do the right shoulder strap.
For the back put the stitch size back to two and switch the carriage from “Hold” to “Normal” (H to N). Knit a row along the entire length (L100-R10).
As before, you're going to get one thread that connects the left side to the right side. This time, thread the yarn onto the needles between the straps as you normally do at the beginning.
Optionally, if you're using two threads like we did, you can take away one to make the back even more light, allowing for more airflow. Now just knit from row 325-433 and take off the garment.
Now you just have to sew the sides together and the top is finished.
